Andrea Mrozek, executive director of the Institute of Marriage and Family Canada, wrote in a research paper this week that the anti-pregnancy stigma is tied to lower birth rates.
"A culture with fewer kids ceases to see kids as an asset and the world becomes less child-friendly," Mrozek wrote in Interconnected: How abortion impacts mothers, families and our society.
"Something will have to change," she adds. "Either we have more children, (social) benefits will decrease or taxes will rise."
